In this weeks edition of #SaturdaySnacks I have had the honour to work with a great blogger and my girlfriend Katie, whom you can follow in the link: Moons and Meerkats! Today we have decided to share with you our 10 favourite on-screen couples in movies!
Catwoman and Batman from The Dark Knight Rises
E: It’s Batman and Catwoman! He’s… Batman and she’s sexy as fff…
K: ..Excuse me?..
Tom and Summer from (500) Days of Summer
E: She broke JGL’s lil heart but I suppose I can forgive her as this is one of the most truthful adaptations to a real relationship.
K: Agreed. Their date ideas, such as playing around in IKEA and yelling ‘Penis’ as loud as you can, is so original and a far cry from the cliched picnics and beach walks.
Han and Leia from the Star Wars Saga
E: It is true romance in space. They didn’t always meet eye to eye but when the shizz hit the fan, Han did what was needed to protect Leia and if that doesn’t scream couple of the Galaxy Far Far Away, I don’t know what will.
K: I like her hair… and his persistence, he wasn’t pushy or too OTT which was cute.
Spider-Man/Peter Parker and Gwen Stacey from The Amazing Spider-Man
E: Talk about the sassiest couple in a Marvel film …SPOILERS… but he still let her die! That’s life I suppose?
Satine and Christian from Moulin Rouge
E: I was made for loving you baby, you were made for loving me!
K: The only way of loving me baby, is to pay a lovely fee..
Jerry Maguire and Dorothy Boyd from Jerry Maguire
E: *Insert Bruce Springsteen here!*
K: Full of cheesy one-liners, how can you not love them?
Evie and Rick O’ Connell from The Mummy
E: Katie, if we were adventurers back in the 1900’s this is who we would be, simples..
K: Word. Such a throwback to our childhood, these two actors suited their roles perfectly as husband and wife!
Patrick and Kat from 10 Things I Hate About You
E: Who knew the Joker could be so effing charming!
K: Heath Ledger.. sigh.
Eilis and Tony from Brooklyn
E: This is a charming little story with a loving couple at the heart. You feel their every move and share their happy moments. Ah sure we might as well emigrate Katie!
K: Of course we had to stick in a bit of Irishness to our blog post. As much as I love the shy and adventurous Eilis, it was Tony who really made the relationship. The way he would send her letters everyday whilst she was in Ireland and would wait outside her night class no matter what the weather to walk her home showed how much he really cared for her.
Rapunzel and Flynn Rider from Tangled
E: Hi… who knew that opposites, from far corners of the Disney spectrum, could attract? Their relationship builds on a trusting friendship that in turn flourishes into a romantic everlasting adventure that is up there with Disney’s best!
K: That lantern scene though… one of the most romantic scenes I think from a Disney film over the past few years.
So there you have it our first collaboration post from Katie and I – we hope to do more like these in the future! Till next time, nerd out!
