Mr. Right (Review)

2016 is shaping up to be a good one and Mr. Right is (in my opinion) on to add to the list!

The plot to Mr. Right is this, a out going woman (Anna Kendrick) comes to a crossroad when she finds out that her new ‘Mr.Right’ (Sam Rockwell) turns out to be a professional assassin who kills the people who hire him instead of the intended targets.

Simples. What follows is a 90min lovable action comedy with two charismatic leads!  Have you found your Mr.Right?

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Sam Rockwell is one of Hollywood’s most underrated actors working today, in this he absolutely steals the show with his witty charm and his tremendous comedic timing.

In the heat of the all out action, he would smartly add a wit of dialogue that made me just love him even more – along with the clever writing – Rockwell makes it his own and is again a force to be reckoned with (as per usual!)

Anna Kendrick also brings some great comedic chops to the table and works incredibly with Rockwell in their scenes together – but sometimes I did feel that her character was written to be that bit more annoying at the start. Gladly, her character changes and becomes an awesome bad-ass once with Rockwell in the picture which is a delight to watch!

With a great supporting cast including Tim Roth and RZA – Mr.Right is an extremely fun and self aware comedy that may not win the hearts of critics but will surely win over the fans!

(Personal rating: 4/5) – nerd out!
